The RepLab works on principled machine learning — building systems that learn reliably, can be corrected on demand, and respect the true structure of the problem. The lab's five research threads span trustworthy learning, machine unlearning, symmetry discovery, neural operators for PDEs, and generative AI for medicine.
The lab maintains strong ties with clinical partners (AIIMS Delhi, NIMHANS), industry (Google DeepMind, Microsoft Research, IBM Research, Adobe Research), and IISc's Health AI Centre of Excellence and Centre for Brain Research.
We are looking for highly motivated PhD students and Research Assistants. If you are interested in working on theoretical machine learning with strong empirical validation, write to prathosh@iisc.ac.in.
Registered at IITD prior to the move to IISc and continued under joint supervision during the review period.
